Report Card Messaging

Summer safety tips copied to the back of student’s report card.

Items Needed

Printer
Paper
Student’s report cards

Steps

Find out the number of students your school has.
Research summer driving tips on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration website.
Make copies for each of the students in your school.
Have all the copies ready before the last day of school and place with report cards.
Take pictures to send to us and post on social media and your website.
Complete an activity form for TDS All-Star points. If in Texas, submit sign-in sheets.

Make it GREAT

Do this more than once. Think of other times you can slip in driver safety tips and information home to parents.

Focus Factor

This activity can be used to learn about the dangers of distracted driving and how you can speak up as a passenger. This activity can be completed individually or as a team and is a quick and easy activity that requires minimal materials.

Lock-In with Community Partnering

Work with a local business or your school to host a lock-in on one of the most dangerous nights of the year for teen drivers, such as graduation or homecoming. Find sponsors, like a local pizza joint to donate food and drinks.

Lunch Tray Decorating

Assemble/decorate disposable lunch trays with safe driving messages on them.

Guest Speaker

Invite a guest speaker/entertainer to come to your school.
