Participate in Community Events
– Depends on involvement planned.
Spread the message to your community by participating in local parades and festivals.
Items Needed
Depends upon activity and involvement planned
Steps
Make a list of know community events, such as festivals, parades, celebrations, etc. Look at smaller community events, as well, such as Elementary School bike rodeos or local auto and motorcycle clubs.
Contact event hosts and planners to find ways your team can participate. This could be volunteering, having a booth, entering the parade, or many other things. Be open to new ideas and challenges!
If you need additional support, think about joining forces with another student organization, group, or a nearby TDS team within the same community.
Community events earn a lot of All-Star points, so make sure you take photos, post them, and complete an activity form!
Make it GREAT
If your team decides to join the parade, contact local businesses to sponsor your float or candy for parade viewers. The business may also offer your team a spot and messaging on their float.
