Sachse TDSers support safety belt campaign

image002[1]October means many things. You could be planning for football games, homecoming, and Halloween parties. It also means another round of Click It or Ticket (CIOT) enforcement, and if you’re not buckling up, October could mean getting a ticket.

To help spread the message about this round of enforcement, a news conference was held on October 13 at the Texas State Fair in Dallas. Teens in the Driver Seat (TDS) was there as a reminder that this year Texas state troopers and your local police and sheriff’s departments will be keeping a close eye on you.

TDSers from Sachse High School in Sachse, Texas, Luis Quijano, Phuong Dien, Tracy Trieu, Alfredo Carpinteyro, Gayle Kuizon and Jessica Nunez attended the event and were interviewed for local TV news.image001[2]

To support the teen emphasis for the October enforcement period the Texas Department of Transportation has developed a new website, www.seatbeltsrock.com. Go check out the website, take a quiz about safe driving and you have a chance to win free stuff!
